How to plan kids activities?
All the repe ive, things got posted first, like dance cl, or sport practice / games. Why not just use Outlook, so everyone can see everyone's free time / busy time, schedule- Do you mean how to organize kids activities. We uses both a large calendar, and a large chalk board. Back when my kids were younger we did not have cell phones, so communication was note writing and keeping tabs on the chalk board. Usually early Sat. mornings, while I was doing the village laundry, lol I would write down the weekly schedule on the big calendar, with time and day of the week. We had three kids, so I would use a color system. Each child had their own colored marker, and that way we would know at a quick glance what kid it was for. Take time to communicate with everyone all together too. I know it's hard but it is important for all to be able to voice their concerns, from Dad, right down to the smallest child. We usually did this right after Sunday dinner, all at the dinner table together. We would talk about the week ahead, and make sure everything was covered from the third grade cl trip, to the dog needing a visit to the vet. Then came the tricky part of who was driving who where and when. lol We found that if you involve the children in this planning part also, it will teach them how important organization is as well as let them realize what it takes to work together as a team to get the job done. It also can be a great way for all the family to learn how to communicate with each other and spend quality family time together just all talking things out. With such busy schedules it is so important to keep those lines of communication open and to have that precious family time together. For the children as well as Mom and Dad, we all knew that during the busy week, if there was no time to talk, we knew that Sunday we would all be able to have chance to catch up or talk about it. Also a very important thing to remember is not to over plan. or to cut the times, and places so close together that you leave no room from unexpected things, like a sick child, or flat tire, and such. Also not to be to tied to the schedule, and let it dictate your every move. In other words you have to be flexible, it is great to have organization, and a schedule, but sometimes life just happens, and you can not just fall apart when it does. After all falling apart is not on that schedule. lol
- Why not just use Outlook, so everyone can see everyone's free time / busy time, schedule appointments and activities, etc. ? Use a different color for each person
